Finance Assistant

We’re looking for a friendly and organised Finance Assistant to join our team and support the Head of Finance in keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes. About the Role

In this role, you’ll support the day to day financial activities of the organisation. You’ll help process invoices and payments, keep records accurate and up to date, and assist with reconciliations and general finance administration. Your work will help ensure that foster families, staff, and partners are paid correctly and on time.

What you’ll be doing

– You’ll be processing invoices and arranging payments, including payments to foster families
– You’ll raise sales invoices and help manage outstanding payments
– You’ll carry out bank reconciliations and keep financial records accurate
– You’ll support with accounting entries using Xero
– You’ll provide general support to the finance team and get involved in wider team activities when needed

What we’re looking for

– You’ll have at least AAT Level 2 and some experience in accounting or bookkeeping
– You’ll be organised, reliable, and have a strong eye for detail
– You’ll feel comfortable using finance systems, with Xero experience being a bonus
– You’ll be a team player with good communication skills
– You’ll bring a positive attitude and a flexible approach to your work

What you can expect

– A salary of up to £25,000 per year
– A full time, permanent role working Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm

HR Compliance Administrator

We’re looking for a friendly and organised HR compliance administrator to join our team. If you have a keen eye for detail and following processes as well as the ability to multi-task and want to be part of an organisation that truly makes a difference, then this could be the perfect role for you.

You will be based at one of our offices in;
Sittingbourne, Kent – ME10 1NA, Chatham, Kent – ME4 4QZ
Billericay, (Barleylands Farm Park) Essex – CM11 2UD

Terms:

Permanent position, 35 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm

Salary:

Up to £30k per annum

Purpose of the Role:

This role focuses specifically on HR-related regulatory tasks, ensuring all employee files are compliant, and managing documents like DBS and other statutory checks.

The successful candidate will help ensure that all recruitment of staff, independent social workers, panel members and ASP’s is completed in full to be compliant with all safer recruitment regulations. In addition the completion, and review of of DBS and other statutory checks.

Key Responsibilities:

– Manage and oversee staff files on Charms across The Hazel Project
– Manage and oversee recruitment process for staff across The Hazel Project including being part of the interview/selection panel
– Manage and oversee recruitment process for Panel Members across The Hazel Project
– Manage and oversee recruitment process for Independent Social Workers across The Hazel Project
– Manage and oversee recruitment process for ASP’s across The Hazel Project
– Manage and oversee staff appraisals
– Monitor staff sickness and run a quarterly report for Directors
– Monitor and set up staff holiday entitlement
– Process and monitor DBSs for foster parents and their support network, linked families, staff, Panel Members and Independent Social Workers across The Hazel Project
– Responsible for formatting documents before being uploaded to the template gallery
– Responsible for implementing and monitoring systems to enable the effective reporting to Ofsted
– Provide administration support to the Senior Management Team when requested including assisting in the process of tendering for LA contracts
– General administration support where necessary
– Monitor yearly Social Work England registration for Social Workers Attend staff meetings, supervision and training when requested
– Responsible for regular auditing of files. Flag issues and suggestions for improvement to the management team

Qualifications & Experience:

– Experience of Ofsted and safer recruitment – desirable
– Experience of fostering – desirable
– HR qualification – desirable

Skills & Knowledge:

– Good written and oral communication – essential
– Good social skills – essential
– Good IT and computer skills – essential
– Ability to work effectively as part of a team – essential
– Knowledge of Google Workspace (G Suite) – desirable
– Knowledge of Charms (our secure database) – desirable
– Knowledge of DBS online system – desirable
